moxiegrrl is a total hypocretin. She only posted this in response to me calling her on her own words, which she later disavowed. Both parties by far and large could care less about the common good. Her attitude and yours will not keep people in the party. Until the Dems have party leadership in the likes of Reps. Conyers and Woolsey I'll with others, will put my efforts towards a better world in a differant manner. Peace. Your fellow Human
First off, Moxiegrrrl's web site is well updated, informative, and really well managed. I would love for you to point out specifically where she was hypocritical, or where you called her on her own words.
Secondly I disagree that the Democratic party couldn't care less about the common good. Am I frustrated with their leadership? Absolutely. Do I disagree with many of the members, even the senior members of that party? Totally.
Am I a Democrat or do I refer to myself as one? Definitely not. I may be a registered Democrat, but that party by and large doesn't speak for me. I support individual Democrats, but want others out of office.
I support them Human because they're the only counter to the Republicans and other conservatives. I refuse to vote green because they have no stake, no clout, and no representation - even though I support their views more than other parties.
And no, it's not true that if every person who felt my way would vote Green or hit the campaign trail for Nader, that he could actually win an election. This country is no where near ready for his brilliant, progressive ideas, and that's a sad statement against the American people, if not anything else.
Finally - I couldn't agree with you more - Conyers is outstanding. I can't support that guy enough, through all the work he's done. I wish the Democratic Party would get their pathetic act together and rally behind those who are more like Conyers and Dean, but again, because there are absolute morons in the Democratic Party such as Lieberman, I don't see that occurring any time soon.
Well it is obvious that by and large we are same page. I just don't see that much differance between the parties therefore in my view not a counter. I agree that moxiegrrrl's site "is well updated, informative, and really well managed." The post that started it was where she posted something about "throwing them all out" after a vote of 97-0. I asked her if she meant it and she said yes. I was going to continue to discuss in that vein on that post but with the daily grind I did not. She shortly after posted about Sen. Corzine and I challenged her on her words. As by reading her anyone can see that can dish it out, I did not think she would take it as personal as she did. The discussion continued and ended(for me) on her post "Money flying out the Window" where she says "Bush is spending..." She took it very personal and viewed it as me saying she was doing nothing. I was trying to tell her that there is other ways to put ones efforts and Bush is not the whole problem. Read it if you want. To me, I just thought it was funny that she still has a chip on her shoulder about the subject. Enough so that she posted the toon. I only found out about the toon when I read about it on your site, which I have been to before, although I do not remember specifically previously commenting. As a matter of recall I think you had a whole differant template the last time I visited.
I recently posted an article on my blog by Lou Dobbs that puts the subject of Corporate control much better than I. I have had to cut off comments recently after getting very profanely verbally attacked and even threatened with firebombing and the murder of my child. These started soon after mt last comments on moxiegrrrl. As I do post on others the threats could have came from anywhere, however one was of such grammar that I have a suspicion who one of them is.
I will be reopening comments soon after I set up certain security footfalls for such people.
For myself I refuse to compromise myself anymore. I was going Green, however after much thought, and watching the toon I drove up to the Court House today and re-registered as an Independent. I refuse to be taken for granted.
Right now I think that the most important thing for us here in the U.S. is to make sure we have a verifiable voting system. In that vein I will be working with the good people at http://www.pdamerica.org and others. Also the most important thing for me is to continue to fight the good fight, because in my opinion the means are just as important as the ends.
Peace. Your fellow Human
